Foodclean big bags are FIBC intended for direct contact with food. DIV Trades produces them in Serbia in a HACCP and ISO 22000:2018 certified plant from virgin polypropylene, with migration-tested fabric and inliners that comply with Regulation (EC) 1935/2004, 10/2011 and 2023/2006. Customers fill them with refined sugar, milk powder, flour, starch and other foodstuffs; around 800,000 of the 2 million big bags DIV Trades makes a year go to the European sugar industry.

Food standards and regulations

The big bag and fabric production of DIV Trades is certified under the food safety systems HACCP and ISO 22000:2018 by CERTOP CO d.o.o. We perform migration analysis of our fabrics and inliners to prove compliance with the relevant limits. Our foodclean big bags, fabric and all raw materials comply with the following regulations:

  • Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food
  • Regulation (EC) 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food
  • Regulation (EC) 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended for food contact
  • Directive 82/711/EEC and amendments: basic rules for testing migration of the constituents of plastic materials intended for food contact
  • Directive 85/572/EEC and amendments: list of simulants for migration testing of plastic materials intended for food contact
  • Local Serbian food-contact regulations

How a foodclean big bag is produced

Certificates and laboratory tests cover quality management and the migration behavior of the plastics. On top of that, DIV Trades applies production measures that keep the finished bag clean:

  • Fully vertically integrated plant: extrusion, weaving, coating and sewing in-house, so quality is controlled along the complete chain.
  • No recycled plastics are used.
  • Fabric and big bags never touch the floor.
  • Broken glass hazard policy throughout the plant.
  • Uncoated fabric is ultrasonic cut or hot cut, which eliminates loose threads; thread ends are heat cut.
  • Employees wear hair nets, wash their hands before entering the sewing plant and are trained regularly.
  • Seams can be placed on the outside of the FIBC so no stitching faces the product.
  • Inside vacuum cleaning of every big bag.

Inspection of finished bags

  • Visual inspection on a light table
  • Metal detection to find broken needles
  • Finished bales wrapped in stretch foil and protected with a PP hood
  • Full product traceability from raw material to delivered bale

DIV Trades is audited regularly by leading international food producers. If you intend to buy our big bags, or already do, you are welcome to visit the production in Bačka Palanka at any time to perform your own audit; contact our sales team to arrange a date.

Typical constructions for food products

Crystal sugar

Standard four-loop bag with inlet and outlet spout and seams with one sealing strip. The construction DIV Trades produces around 800,000 times a year for the sugar industry.

Flour and processed cereals

Two sealing strips, the most common dustproof level, with spout inlet and outlet.

Milk powder and starch

Three sealing strips or a PE inliner, often as a formstable Q-bag for stable palletized storage. See big bags with inliners.

Foodclean production can be combined with any other type: conductive bags for flammable food powders, UN bags and Q-bags. The dustproof level is explained under dustproof and sewing.
