About DIV Trades

DIV Trades d.o.o. is a big bag (FIBC) manufacturer based in Bačka Palanka, Vojvodina, Serbia. With around 500 employees and around 2 million big bags a year, it is the largest producer of flexible intermediate bulk containers in the country. We supply the Balkans and the European Union, export to around 30 countries and are the market leader in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia. Our bags hold a strong share of the European sugar industry, which alone takes around 800,000 FIBC a year.

What we do

We produce and sell every common type of FIBC: standard four-loop, one- and two-loop, conductive, UN, formstable, ventilated, food-grade and bags with inliners. Every bag is designed together with the customer to match handling, size, weight, the filling and emptying process, product safety, operator safety and appearance. Our sales team has many years of experience and will develop the best solution for your product.

The heart of the company is the sewing plant, where big bags are made from fabric, loops, sewing thread and other technical textiles. More than 350 people work in this division. The second part of DIV Trades is a modern fabric plant with more than 100 employees, around 50 weaving machines and an output of around 300 tonnes of fabric and technical textiles. We make most of the textiles a big bag needs in-house, from tape extrusion through circular and Sulzer flat weaving to coating and belt production.

Fully vertically integrated FIBC production

Vertical integration is what lets us control quality and delivery time. We extrude our own polypropylene tape from virgin raw material with UV stabilization, weave and coat the fabric, make the lifting belts and sew, print and inspect the finished bag. History of DIV Trades

DIV Trades d.o.o. was founded by Zoran Knežević in Čelarevo, Serbia, in 1996. For the first two years the company traded in paper. In 1998 it switched to the production of big bags, starting with 9 sewing machines and 20 employees.

DIV Trades was not the first big bag producer in Serbia. The state-owned company Dunav A.D. had made FIBC before, but did not survive the transition from Yugoslavia to a market economy in the 1990s. Many of our first employees, and the management, came from Dunav and brought years of FIBC experience with them. That local know-how, combined with a consistent high-quality strategy, turned DIV Trades into a regional leader within a few years.

The company then invested steadily in machines and technology to become a fully vertically integrated FIBC manufacturer: its own fabric production on Sulzer looms in 2004, its first tape line in 2010, further land and buildings in 2012 and an expanded fabric plant in 2015. The products changed as well. In the early days most orders were simple standard bags; today we mainly produce more demanding bags such as formstable and conductive FIBC.

Today DIV Trades employs around 500 people, produces around 2 million jumbo bags a year and has been manufacturing FIBC for nearly three decades.

Where we are

All three sites are in Bačka Palanka, on the main road between Novi Sad and the Croatian border, about 1.5 hours by car from Belgrade airport.
